In 2007 I pleaded no contest to two counts Penal Code 487 (a) and one count Penal Code 459. I served 2 years concurrently in state prison. After I got out of prison I completely turned my life around. I went back to school and got Job training and performed volunteer work. However, despite all of my positive contributions my past convictions continued to haunt me. Even though I served my time, paid my debt and changed my life for the better; I continued to have legal issues with immigration. And trouble getting good jobs. With regard to immigration, the consequences of my two year conversation was extremely serious. Immigration charged me with an aggravated felony which carries a mandatory penalty of PERMANENT bar from living in the U.S. I have been a permanent resident since I was 3y. this is my home! I desperately needed a post conviction relief, to solve my immigration problem. Before hiring Mr Escovar, I had attempted to get my charges reduced 3 prior times with 3 different attorneys without a shred of success. It was a total waste of time and money. I was running out of time! I never gave up hope and I prayed for a miracle. My prayers were answered when I found Attorney Steve Escovar on yelp.
