I received a speeding ticket in Wisconsin for driving 24 miles + in Lions county. I am from Illinois. Contacted the Johnen law firm and was given a lot of assurances. Was said they will work with the attorney to possibly reduce or void the entire ticket because of my complete clean records. All documents were timely submitted by them, no issues. After 6 weeks, I reached out of anxiety and they again assured that even if the judgement is not in our favor, we can appeal and try to reduce the fine further. There will be ample scope for negotiations. 2 months went by and received a decision from attorney directly in mail. The speeding fine was reduced only by 1 category, because of clean record. From $300 to $200+. When I enquired with attorneys to possibly appeal, they mentioned that it is not possible. I was told that their only objective was to avoid a suspension. I have no issues with paying fine, but I have issue with lying. When I hired them, they had set completely different expectations and also lied in the middle during my enquiry. Later after outcome, they changed the tune . I know I cant argue with lawyers, but being non truthful is not a good sign. Also, I was clarified that during the entire process there was no real negotiation with public prosecutor. They just submit documents and wait for a response or result.
